Bring the Rain
April 12, 2008
I subscribe to a few blogs that I like to read for different reasons. Some are crafty blogs, full of creativity and pretty eye-candy. Some are informational blogs, full of instruction and newsy things. Some are chatty and tell the stories of people I know.
Still there are others - the ones that I have no idea about the author - I wouldn’t know them if we passed on the street - that touch my heart and my soul in a way that very few things do, save Christ alone. I usually end up adding these to my sidebar because they fill my soul. Food from Him, I think.
Today I discovered a new one, and I want to share it with you. Bring tissues - you will need them. Bring your laugh, because you will use it. Bring your heart and prepare to leave a little piece of it there as you read the story of an incredible baby girl and how her short life has touched so many. I know she touched mine, and I will forever be grateful to a God who gives me these moments.
My prayers today will be with Angie, Todd, Kate, Ellie and Abby Smith - for continued healing and the loving grace of our Lord to be wrapped around each one of them as they cherish, miss, and share the story of their little angel, Audrey Caroline. My praise will be for a God who has healed sweet Audrey - maybe not in the way that would have been easiest for all involved, but healed in perfection nonetheless. A God who is bigger than anything we can imagine dealing with - and who is in the midst of it all.
Pease take the time to visit Angie’s blog - which is entitled “Bring the Rain” (which, incidentally, happens to be one of my very favorite songs as well). Prepare to be moved, and changed…and see how big the God we love and serve really is.
God bless you on this beautiful Saturday.
